Sportara is an independent provider of hospitality and ticket packages and is not the primary ticket provider. Prices may be above the face value of the tickets.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 September 2026

§ 1 Scope

  1. These General Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) apply to all services provided by SPORTARA AG, Geissbergstrasse 34, 8633 Wolfhausen, Switzerland, registered office in Bubikon (Canton of Zurich), UID CHE-370.506.140 ("Sportara") to its customers. They apply to bookings made via www.sportara.com, by email, telephone, WhatsApp or written order.
  2. Customers are consumers (private individuals) or business customers (companies, associations, public authorities). Provisions that apply to only one of these groups are marked as such.
  3. Deviating terms of the customer apply only if Sportara expressly agrees to them in writing.
  4. Individual agreements in the offer, the order confirmation or the invoice take precedence over these T&Cs.

§ 2 Sportara as intermediary

  1. Sportara arranges tickets as well as hospitality and VIP packages for sporting and premium events (including Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis, football, rugby, golf and concerts). The services are provided by organisers, official hospitality partners and ticket agencies ("service providers").
  2. Sportara is neither the organiser of the events nor a tour operator. The contract for the event service (admission, seat, hospitality) is concluded between the customer and the respective service provider. Its terms of business and ticket conditions, to which Sportara refers in the offer, apply in addition.
  3. Sportara is responsible for the careful selection, reservation and booking of the service, for forwarding the tickets and information, and for looking after the customer before and during the booking (brokerage contract, Art. 394 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations, CO).
  4. Sportara accepts the customer's payment on behalf of the service provider. By paying Sportara, the customer has fulfilled its payment obligation towards the service provider.
  5. The scope of the arranged service is set out in the offer or order confirmation: event, date, category or area, number of seats, service provider and included extras (e.g. catering, drinks, parking).

§ 3 Offer and conclusion of contract

  1. The presentation of events and packages on the website does not constitute a binding offer. Availability, especially for events in high demand, may change at short notice.
  2. Offers from Sportara are valid until the date stated in the offer. Until the order confirmation, they are subject to availability with the service provider.
  3. By placing an order or accepting an offer, the customer gives Sportara a binding brokerage mandate. The contract is concluded upon Sportara's order confirmation by email or upon delivery of the invoice.
  4. An automatic acknowledgement of receipt does not constitute acceptance.
  5. Anyone booking for several participants must inform them of these T&Cs and of the service provider's conditions. For business customers, the person placing the order is liable for payment of all booked seats.

§ 4 Prices, brokerage fee, payment

  1. Prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF), euros (EUR), US dollars (USD) or British pounds (GBP). The currency stated in the offer or on the invoice is decisive.
  2. Prices for consumers are final prices including statutory VAT, where applicable. Further costs (e.g. shipping) are clearly stated before booking.
  3. The total price comprises the service provider's price and Sportara's brokerage fee for sourcing, reservation, handling and support. The face value printed on the ticket may therefore differ from the total price.
  4. The payment deadline, any deposits and other payment terms are set out in the invoice. If no deadline is stated there, the amount is payable within 10 days.
  5. Payment methods: credit and debit card and other online payment methods via the payment service provider Stripe, TWINT, or bank transfer to the account stated on the invoice. Payments are made in the invoice currency; bank charges and currency conversion costs are borne by the customer.
  6. Tickets are handed over only after payment has been received in full.
  7. If the customer does not pay within the payment deadline, it is in default without a reminder. Sportara may charge default interest of 5 % (Art. 104 CO) and, after setting a short grace period, withdraw from the contract. The cancellation costs under § 6 remain due.
  8. If the customer initiates an unjustified chargeback, it bears the resulting costs.
  9. Set-off against counterclaims is permitted only if these have been acknowledged by Sportara or established with legal force.

§ 5 Tickets, delivery, personalisation, transfer

  1. Depending on the service provider, tickets are provided as e-tickets, mobile tickets (app), paper tickets, accreditations or for collection on site. Many organisers release tickets only a few days before the event; delivery shortly before the event is therefore customary and not a defect.
  2. Sportara informs the customer in good time when and how it will receive the tickets.
  3. For personalised tickets, the customer must submit the complete and correct details of all participants on time. The customer bears the consequences of incorrect or late information.
  4. Adjacent seats are guaranteed only if this has been expressly confirmed. The service provider may allocate equivalent or better seats in the same category.
  5. The organiser's conditions and house rules apply to admission and attendance.
  6. Commercial resale of arranged tickets is prohibited. Private transfer is permitted only insofar as the organiser allows it.

§ 6 No right of withdrawal, cancellation by the customer

  1. No right of withdrawal: Swiss law does not provide a right of withdrawal for bookings made online, by telephone or by email. Every booking is binding once the order has been confirmed.
  2. Cancellation: As Sportara reserves the services with the service provider on a binding basis, bookings generally cannot be cancelled or returned. As a gesture of goodwill, Sportara may accept a cancellation by email. In that case, the following costs of the total price apply:
  • Up to 90 days before the event: 50 %
  • 89 to 30 days before: 75 %
  • From 29 days before or in the event of no-show: 100 %
  1. If the service provider charges higher cancellation costs, these apply. Sportara points this out in the offer.
  2. Instead of cancelling, the customer may name a substitute participant, insofar as the organiser permits this. The customer bears any rebooking costs.
  3. Sportara recommends taking out cancellation insurance.

§ 7 Cancellation, postponement and changes to the event

  1. The date, venue, schedule, participants (e.g. drivers, players, teams) and staging of the event are the responsibility of the organiser or service provider.
  2. Cancellation without a replacement date: Sportara passes on the service provider's refund to the customer and works towards prompt repayment. The brokerage fee remains due insofar as Sportara has already provided the brokerage service.
  3. Postponement: Tickets generally remain valid for the new date. If the service provider grants a refund, Sportara passes it on at the customer's request.
  4. Insignificant changes do not entitle the customer to a refund or price reduction. These include in particular changed start or kick-off times, programme changes, a different field of participants or equivalent reseating.
  5. Sportara notifies the customer of significant changes (e.g. staging without spectators, a different venue, clearly lower-value seats) without delay as soon as it becomes aware of them. Claims are to be directed against the service provider; Sportara supports the customer in asserting them.
  6. Sportara is not liable for the consequences of force majeure, official orders, strikes, severe weather or pandemics.

§ 8 Hotels, travel and other third-party services

  1. Sportara does not offer package travel within the meaning of the Swiss Package Travel Act.
  2. On request, Sportara additionally arranges hotels, transfers, flights or other services. These are offered separately, shown with their own price and booked directly with the respective provider. That provider's conditions apply, in particular regarding cancellation and liability.
  3. The cancellation or postponement of an event does not affect separately booked third-party services. Their costs are refunded only insofar as the respective provider refunds them.
  4. The customer is responsible for complying with the passport, visa, customs and health regulations of the destination country.

§ 9 Customer obligations

  1. The customer must comply with the organiser's conditions, house rules and dress codes (e.g. in the Paddock Club, in the Royal Enclosure or in VIP boxes). The customer must inform itself about these conditions and dress codes.
  2. Minimum age and accompaniment requirements for minors are set by the organiser; the customer must observe them before booking.
  3. If a participant is refused entry or removed because of a breach, there is no entitlement to a refund.
  4. The customer must check its documents upon receipt and report errors (names, date, category) without delay.
  5. The customer is liable for damage culpably caused by it or its participants.

§ 10 Liability

  1. Sportara is liable for the careful performance of the brokerage service. The respective service provider is liable for providing the arranged service itself.
  2. Sportara has unlimited liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for personal injury.
  3. Liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Towards consumers, it is limited to the total price of the booking concerned.
  4. Sportara is not liable for indirect and consequential damage such as loss of profit or travel and hotel costs, to the extent permitted by law.
  5. Liability for auxiliary persons is limited to the same extent (Art. 101 CO).

§ 11 Data protection and image recordings

  1. Sportara processes personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
  2. To perform the contract, Sportara passes on the necessary data (in particular names, dates of birth, identity document details) to service providers, organisers and, where applicable, hotels. This may involve recipients abroad, including in countries without equivalent data protection (e.g. USA, Middle East). Disclosure is necessary for the performance of the contract (Art. 17(1)(b) FADP).
  3. Card payments are processed via the payment service provider Stripe. Card data is processed directly by Stripe and is not stored by Sportara.
  4. Organisers frequently make photo, film and TV recordings at events. The organiser's conditions apply to these.

§ 12 Applicable law, place of jurisdiction, final provisions

  1. Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Consumers resident abroad retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of their state of residence.
  2. The place of jurisdiction for business customers is Bubikon, Switzerland. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply (Art. 32 Swiss Civil Procedure Code); in particular, they may bring an action at their place of residence.
  3. Cancellations, notices and complaints are to be made by email to the address below.
  4. Sportara may amend these T&Cs at any time. The version in force at the time of booking is decisive.
  5. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected. They are replaced by a provision that comes closest to the economic purpose.
